Does not suck
- The afternoon of shopping I just had with the boy child. He is awesome company. And he has fabulous taste in shoes (his own, I mean).
- Yankee Candle's gel car air freshener dealie in Home Sweet Home.
- The way the man who runs the sushi kiosk at my local sucky supermarket bows to me when I make my selection.
- The brown rice Philadelphia roll with smoked salmon from said kiosk.
- Mexican hot chocolate (just add a bit of cinnamon and vanilla to your usual recipe).
- Our summer family reading program, which has extended into fall and will continue through winter and beyond (just finished L'Engle's A Wind in the Door, which was the boy child's pick; tonight we start DH's pick, Piers Anthony's A Spell for Chameleon, and we are not discussing the fact that I sort of hate Piers Anthony because this is the DOES NOT SUCK list).
- Alba Passion Fruit Nectar lip balm.
- The new shortcut that opened up between our house and the mall.
- Our neighbors' long-haired miniature dachshund puppy, which is cute as hell. (Note to DH: we're still not getting one.)
- My google search on the phrase "wiener dog", which I hoped would lead to the correct spelling of dachshund because I was NOT guessing right AT ALL, and which also led me to this.
- Holiday-themed plastic zipper bags from the dollar store.
- Endangered Species Chocolate's black rhino bar.
- The fact that my brother and his wife are coming up for Thanksgiving this year! Woo!

Sounds like a wonderful Saturday.
I spent the morning at the farmers' market, Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, watched some football and then watched a Netflix, Hot Fuzz done by the people who did Shaun of the Dead.
I was a little scared to click on the link but oh, how cute!!
I'm with Sarah Louise, I was afraid to click on it too!!;-)
link to the chocolate bar please.
Piers Anthony...OMG, you've opened memories of horror for me. Granted, my then-BF worked on Wall Street and made half as much in a bonus as my husband makes yearly but...I would never trade back.
*shudder*
Good luck!
Have you read His Dark Materials by Pullman yet? Excellent pagan-ish reading. Start before the Golden Compass comes out, if you haven't!
I LOVED the Cocktail Wieners!
My 11-yr-old was recently asking me to recommend books for her to read. Thanks for reminding me of Madeleine L'Engle.
I know you wrote a very funny blog at least a year ago about a dachshund in your neighborhood who thought your house was its house. I have no idea how to find that blog in your archives. Is this the same dog or another?
S, is this the post you were thinking of? This is a completely different weenie dog. THAT weenie dog was INSANE. This one is just teensy and cute.
That's the blog I was remembering. My stomach hurts from laughing. If you ever make a collection of your "greatest hits" blogs, please include that one.
So, you have more than one weenie dog on your street, but only one of them is insane. OK.
A dachshund right next door! That's my fantasy--all of the cuteness to enjoy, and none of the urine on your carpet.

Sounds like a fab Saturday!
Hooray that your brother will visit!

You should go to you tube and look up rusty the narcopletic (sic) dog.
