Matchmaker
I have been meaning to do this for quite some time. So long, in fact, that I may be too late in some cases. But I am nothing if not obnoxiously earnest, so I'm forging ahead anyway! Whee!
Ahem.
Suse, have you met my dear friend Jen? Jen, this is Suse. I think the two of you would get along wonderfully well, and not just because you are the two most prolific knitters I know. You're both excellent photographers, for one thing, and you share a certain -- I don't know, an underlying quality of the personality, or something -- that I find interesting and enjoyable. I think youse two would hit it off famously.
Kim dear, have you met my pal Jaye? Jaye, please meet Kim. On the surface, the two of you may not have much in common, but I have long felt that your mutual love of food, from ingredient gathering to cooking to consuming, would make you fast friends. That's why I'm linking your food blogs and not your main blogs. The rest is up to you.
Bookhart, you old slut, have you met my friend Babelbabe? Babs, meet Bookhart. The two of you are both guitar widows and bibliophiles, and you share a wry, sardonic sense of humor and love of the absurd that has me crushing on the both of you. So, you know, you should totally love EACH OTHER.
Right. My work here is done.
I'll get to the rest of you later.
In other news, the Badger children went back to school today, and they were much more excited about that than I was, believe it or not.
I am right this very minute curled up on the recliner sofa in the den with a nice cup of decaf Constant Comment, and apart from the hum of my laptop and the sound of rain drumming on the roof (it's POURING here right now, yo), my house is absolutely silent for the first time in a month.
Sigh.

Good morning, Badger. sounds like a great start to the day. What crafty project will you be spending time with today?
Go back to bed? Don't mind if I do!
You should have saved this post for St. Valentine's Day.

Late morning naps? I became a whore to those whilst I was off during break.
I take it that was a happy sigh, the kind that you can hear all the way to Illinois?
And I'm sure you heard mine, way down thar in Tay-has.
Joke: But I'm not Catholic.
It was NOT a happy sigh!
And I did not take a nap.
I did learn the cable cast-on for knitting, though, so the day wasn't a total loss.
Feel free to look for pods in my basement (if I had one).
Okay, I've been knitting for 33 years and do not yet know the cable method of casting on. You go, Badge!
Jen
i just went and introduced myself : ) Thanks for the set-up!
OK, then...
"You should have saved this post for Valentine's Day."

Pagans. Sheesh.

What a great post! I rushed off to check out the bloggers I hadn't read before. Badgers always seem to know the most interesting people.
Agh! I kept thinking, Gee, why hasn't Badger been posting lately? Not a whisper - hope she's ok. Only to find you're doing just fine, organising hook-ups and what-like. Seems that blogrolling has decided not to let me know when you've updated, so I'm away to have words because I've Missed You!
Ooh, that was great. I'm off on my blind date now, thanks. And I've long thought that if you and Kim didn't already know each other, I would so be setting you two up.
ps. cable cast on? I am seriously impressed as I have no idea what that is.
I feel like I've been set up on a blind date.
And I just read Suse's comment saying the same thing, so suddenly I don't feel so witty...
ok, you are my new best friend. badger-llama, llama--badger:) so nice to randomly stumble upon witty, housewife, knitting, matchmaking blogger when all i was doing was cruising for blogger fodder.
kudos indeed!!
